What's coming up...

Key of Three starts 2015 with lots of news. In August of 2014 founding member Don Howell moved on. He followed his heart to San Diego... man will he be missed. That left the band with a pair of very big shoes to fill. We needed another guitarist, another vocalist, another songwriter and someone who could work easily with original material. Enter Mike Smith! Wow! What a player – and a guy with three CD's of his own! We gigged a full three sets of original material after only four rehearsals. The band just hit the ground running. Now as we approach the new year we've added 5 songs from Mike's repertoire and 4 new to the band pieces from John. Click here to see a pic of Mike and read his bio.

The next bit of big news is that Key of Three applied for and won a spot in the 2015 Southern Oregon Rising Stars competition. This is a cool opportunity offered by South Stage Cellars that gives the band a chance to perform to a new circle of potential fans and venue owners and might even lead to a spot at the Britt Festival. Pretty damn cool!!!!

This of course means that we will be hitting up all our friends to come and support us this February and March when the competition gets going. See ya soon! Be sure to check out where we are playing to keep posted on our play dates.

Watch us performing Live!

Here is a video of us performing "Good Things" written by Heidi Eyler. This was at the Rooster Crow Festival, Rogue River - 2012. Our thanks and gratitude to Randy Johnson who filmed this while shooting a documentary of the event. Find out more about Randy at his website: Randy Johnson Artworks.

We are coming close to wrapping up a very busy summer of performances! We got to play at our first wineries - Plaisance Ranch and Deer Creek Vineyards - both in the Rogue Valley, and really enjoyed those! Also got our first California concert at Happy Camp "Rockin' the Klamath". Played some festivals, a concert in the park in Merlin, several wonderful benefits: Relay for Life, Make-A-Wish Foundation and will be coming back for our 3rd year at Rogue Winterfest 2012 coming up this December.

We have also released a CD which is doing very well thanks to you fans out there enjoying and supporting what we do. We've just made some tee-shirts featuring the "Wonderland" CD cover and should get some pictures of that up soon!

Keep checking back to the site on our Calendar page for where we are playing next and much love to y'all who keep coming to see us and spreading the word about us. You are the ones that keep us songwriting and performing!

"But wait! There's more...go to our "Wonderland CD Extras" page for pictures, song list, song credits, stories, acknowledgements and so on. CD has 12 Songs:

"Key of Three" is a group based on the exceptional song writing talents of its members: Mike Smith (guitar and vocals) - John Eyler (guitar and vocals) - Heidi Eyler (vocals) and Debra Lawton (bass and vocals). Musically, it's the group's strong three part harmonies and John's ripping acoustic guitar leads that are most easily noticed.

The songs touch a variety of themes and genres offering roots in folk, rock, jazz and country and then soaring to heights with a definite progressive edge. Our song stylings are geared for a listening audience who enjoy lyrics, harmonies and a mix of genres.

We regularly perform a three-hour set with our originals as a trio with Mike, John and Heidi, or can add members up to a 6-piece band with bassist, percussionist and drummer depending on the venue and occasion.

We are located in Grants Pass - Southern Oregon area, nestled within the Rogue Valley. We have performed in Grants Pass, Cave Junction, Jacksonville, O'Brien, Myrtle Creek, Roseburg and continue to branch out.
